In the late 60s, the FBI agent Hanratty is charged to extradite Frank Abagnale Jr. wanted for fraud and identity theft. A few years earlier, Frank, teenager, lived with his parents who were struggling to make ends meet. At the time of the divorce, he ran away. When he needs money, he pretends to be an airline pilote, a lawyer, a doctor, ... Hanratty decides to take the case and begins to hunt. Over time, a strange relationship will bind them.
A wonderful cinema duet
The story is based on a eponymous novel by Frank Abagnale Jr which tells the beginning of his life in a romanticized way. DiCaprio is amazing as usual and Tom Hanks quite good. I have less to say, it is that kind of movie that you love or you hate. It includes Spielberg loved topics like family and it has many recipes of comedy movie. It is difficult to store the film in a category: stalking between an agent and a crook or history of friendship? Probably both
