After Earth by M. Night Shyamalan

One movie a day

After Earth by M. Night Shyamalan

After a forced landing, Kitai and his father are trapped on Earth, one thousand years after mankind has been forced to evacuate the planet. Since his father is seriously injured, Kitai goes on his own to a high-risk journey to signal their presence and ask for help.

Danger is real. Fear is a choice.

This has not much to do with a movie critic, but wtf your haircut Will !!! After Earth has made me have a good time. I liked the original concept. The scenery are beautiful, the special effects very well executed. Unfortunately, as often, the concept is not pushed through the end. The pair of actors (who bear their own film) play well, although this may not be their best game. The relationship between an authoritarian father and his son who has something to prove is well exploited. The soundtrack sticks also well the story. A nice movie, but not a masterpiece.
