Australia by Baz Luhrmann

One movie a day

Australia by Baz Luhrmann

Just before the Second World War, a British aristocrat, newly widowed, inherited a ranch in Australia. She asks for help from a Australian cowboy and its Aboriginal employees to resist the competition in the livestock trade. But the regions is dangerous and the Japanese planes attacked....

Danger always makes things more intense

Australia is a fully assumed romantic adventure on a huge landscape. It remains, however, far from a masterpiece and Japanese attacks seemed to be a pretext for reunion scene. But, it made us forget the world. The star's couple produces great chemistry, they are two of my favorite actors. Of course the scenery is beautiful and quite savage. A good entertainment.
